Dr Noel van Rooyen was Professor in Plant Ecology at the University of Pretoria until 2000 is currently a member of Ekotrust CC. He is author/co-author of 121 peer reviewed research publications and was supervisor/co-supervisor of 7 PhD and 32 MSc students.
He contributed to chapters in the book titled Game Ranch Management (Bothma, J. du P. - editor)(1986 - 2010); Intensive wildlife production in southern Africa (2005) (Bothma, J. du P. & Van Rooyen, N. - editors); Vegetation types of South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland (Low & Rebelo 1996); The Magnificent Natural Heritage of South Africa (Knobel 1999), and the book titled Bushveld (Van der Walt, P.T.– editor). He authored the field guide Flowering plants of the Kalahari dunes (2001). He is registered as a professional natural scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat.), professional rangeland scientist (MGSSA) and professional ecologist (MSAIE&ES). More than 250 vegetation and wildlife management assignments and reports have been completed over a period of more than 30 years.
